WWII Era Silver Plated Trinket Box

*SOLD* This sweet little box features a deep blue lid with a crown design. It is marked on the bottom as silver plate, and was made in occupied Japan. Japan was occupied by the US after WWII, so I believe this was made in the 1940's. It has four ornate little feet, as well as floral motif on all four sides of the box. The inside is tarnished but clean, with signs that there had been a sticker inside the lid that probably would have told us the manufacturer. The box measures 3 inches by 3 1/2 inches rectangle, and stands about 1 1/2 inches high. The box is in great vintage/used condition considering that it is probably close to 80 years old! There are no chips, cracks, or other damage to the piece. The blue enamel or paint on the cover is worn through in a couple of places. The hinge works great. The box was not made with any latching mechanism to keep it closed. Overall a beautiful little box with a long history!
